“Amazing! Dr. Tran’s practice, along with her wonderful professional team (Krissy, Iris, Jennifer, Danny, etc.) is the place you need to make your next dental visit stop. Do you want a fun place? Or the old school dentist playing the elevator songs? Didn’t think so. If you are still reading here is my personal experience so far: My longtime boyfriend had an emergency dental issue and Dr. Tran and her team took him in ASAP and treated him with the with the most utmost care! After hearing this I decided to choose Dr. Tran for Invisalign® – my current dentist at the time no longer offered it. Dr. Tran and her team were so thorough in my evaluation that they immediately spotted a dental issue in which they swiftly and carefully resolved. I00% recommend this fun practice!”

“I was referred by a coworker but I also needed to be seen ASAP as I was in so much pain and had experiencing a headache for four days straight. I also had aching pain in my left upper jaw and my face, similar to a sinus infection. They were able to quickly diagnose that I had been grinding my teeth. They gave me a quick splint, not a mouth guard I know but it is a less expensive way to temporarily help, if the grinding persists then, I’ll switch to a mouth guard if need be. The dentist was a female, sweet personable lady and I like that even though I was in terrible aching headache pain and face pain she was able to lighten the mood and get me excited about healing. Very nice location. Easily accessible. You have to look to your immediate right when you turn off of the main road. Make sure to bring your mask!”

“I went for a cleaning after not having one for an embarrassingly long time, and did not feel judged. You can tell the employees like working there. It is the most playful I’ve been during a dental appointment. They made it fun!”

They were able to squeeze me in last minute before the end of the year!  Everyone (the front staff, hygienists, Dr. Tran, Dr. Nguyen and Mavis the dog) are so helpful and you can feel that they love their job. “I have been with been seeing Dr. Tran for over a year. Although I had issues which can happen when you put a crown but the important factor is she feels responsible for the jobs they do at her office. I have a crown I feel have a gap and I mentioned it to her, she offers me to replace it and more important thing is she does’t put it down because it happened in the past. She discussed about the reasons which made this issue. The office is doing very well with giving you urgent appointment if you need one and they are supportive as well.”

“Best dental practice I have ever been to… and I have lived in 7+ states. This is long and lengthy, but if you are looking for the best staff – no matter who you come in contact with, it will be anyone at Fair Lakes Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. From scheduling an appointment, to a consultation, to routine cleaning – you will be happy with their services. I trust every administrative personnel, hygienists, and doctor at this practice. My mom is a dental hygienist – and still – I choose this dental practice over her’s (sorry mom lol).

First, the dental practice itself is gorgeous and well kept. Everything is super clean, modern and looks brand new. They truly care about their office environment and that shows. The front desk personnel, Krissy and Andrew, are BEYOND awesome. I used to fear making appointments, but you can hear the chipperness in Andrew’s voice through the phone and you can’t help but smile too. Krissy has made personal follow up calls to just check-in and see if things were ok (not even to reschedule a canceled appointment due to my dog having a seizure). They care, they go above and beyond for their patients, and it shows. The texting feature is amazing, especially because they respond right away – even if it is just to say they need to check with the doctor. With how much I text, they must have had to hire a dedicated person to answer my messages lol.

I first went to see Dr. Tran right before COVID was a thing, and I already have extreme anxiety around dentists from bad past experiences. The first thing they did when I was in the chair (just for a consultation having just left a different practice in Tyson’s because I wasn’t impressed with their staff) – was that they asked what they could get me, turn the tv to, or do to help me relax. I have never waited more than 5 minutes at this practice, when usually you can expect to wait 20-40 mins minimum anywhere else you go. They don’t overbook and never keep you waiting.

Their chairside manner is beyond and it shows by how much I could overhear their patients share details of their personal lives (How was the wedding, how’s your dog, how’s your kids? etc). A year later, the dental hygienist Linda even remembered minor details that I had shared at the previous visits which made me feel like they truly care and their dental practice isn’t a revolving door. Linda has also done my x-rays, and usually it is always an uncomfortable experience – but not with her. She is gentle, even when she cleans your teeth but also attentive in pointing out areas that you could improve, but even notices in next visits where you have taken her suggestions and how impressed she is on how much better your teeth are.

My main concern with my smile was that I didn’t like the small gap that had developed over time between my two front teeth. During the consultation, Dr. Tran voiced that there are major cavities that I need to get taken care of but listened to my wants/needs on first fixing my smile to help with my confidence. To me this is huge – having a doctor actually listen to you. Dr. Tran fixed my smile and did an amazing job! I get so many compliments after fixing such a minor change, and more importantly – boosted my confidence. Dr. Tran was diligent and is definitely a perfectionist when it comes to her cosmetic craft on teeth – which is what you want whenever you are getting any type of work done to boost your appearance.. I highly recommend any type of cosmetic dentistry to be performed by Dr. Tran.

After the cosmetic surgery, of course COVID-19 hit and most places had to shut down. Upon reopening – I was even more anxious and nervous because I am also high risk. I could not be any more impressed with the procedures the entire dental practice put into place to make me feel safe – in probably one of the most high risk environments (hello spit flying everywhere..). I felt so bad for them in all their PPE – but extremely grateful for how much they went above and beyond to again make sure I felt safe and comfortable. Even today, when there are vaccines available, they have maintained strict protocols because to them health and safety is of their utmost importance and there is nothing you want more when choosing a dentist or doctor.

Moving onto the cavities… my mouth was a mess – there was a possibility of needing maybe 3 root canals at the time, and Dr. Tran promised me she would do anything in her power to not make that happen. And she did! I pretty much spent my summer of 2020 in that chair – as she went to work on my mouth. I NEVER ONCE felt pain or discomfort. I never once felt anxious. She was attentive, constantly asking if I felt like I needed any more pain needle things, because she knew how nervous I was. And she never once made me have any discomfort or pain. Now, if there is ever another cavity, I won’t lose sleep the night before being up with anxiety because I know I can trust to have a good experience. Dr. Tran’s dental assistant, Diana, is also amazing and was always the same person assisting Dr. Tran through each visit which gave me a lot of comfort. She was very attentive and also asked if I ever needed anything, and always checked in on me to make sure I was ok.

Fast forward to 2021… I had to move to Pittsburgh for unforeseen circumstances, and unfortunately missed my 6 month check in. Some kind of infection got into my mouth and caused my face to swell up like a balloon. Dr. Nguyen hopped on a zoom call with no hesitation to try and see what was going on from 200 miles away. She was compassionate and caring, and wasn’t trying to rush me off the phone to get to a patient that was in person. She was able to prescribe medications at a pharmacy local to me, and get me into an appointment in their office as soon as I was able to make the commitment to drive back to Virginia. She also provided me with referrals to get second opinions on what may be going on, and even asked if I wanted some in the Pittsburgh area. In person, she made time to answer any and all of my questions on the next steps – and took the initiative to double check anything x-rays may have missed to make sure I would be able to handle everything while I was in town. She made me feel confident and lessened my already existing anxiety about timings of squeezing everything in and reassured me the best course of action to fix the pain and swelling I was in.

I drive the 200 miles to Fair Lakes Family Dental and Cosmetic Dentistry because I trust them. I drive because they care, are diligent, responsive, and are extremely thorough.”

“I just had my bi-annual cleaning and checkup with Dr. Nguyen and her team. I wasn’t sure what to expect during COVID but knew I needed to keep my appointment to maintain dental health. The Fairlakes Family and Cosmetic Dental team was awesome! I was warmly welcomed with a call after I notified them that I was waiting outside in my car. The whole process was smooth and everyone was their regular, considerate and friendly selves as they guided me through the new updated COVID process.
